Now,perhaps more than ever, classic bags seem to be the absolute choice in contrast to the previous decade it-bags.The classic Chanel 2.55,then,is the holy grail for any stylish woman and not without reason!It can be worn with any outfit,at any time,on any ocassion,by anyone!It is the absolute must have!
I've been longing for a pencil leather skirt since forever.It's been more of a lush buy that I've been putting off but knew I would have to come to terms with someday!
Last Saturday I saw it!It was hanging from a clothes rail at a lovely boutique.The supple black leather and the perfect fit mesmerised me.I imagined wearing it with a loose white crisp shirt
or a cashmere sweater
or even with my KENZO sweatshirts!
There was no end to the possibilities that opened for all the occassions that I would wear it.Day
or night,
for business
or pleasure...
you name it!
And then,I saw it!The holy grail of leather skirts (at least for this season!).The pleated leather skirt!!!
Images of all those stylish women wearing this beauty came to mind.
And again I started thinking of all the ways it could be worn!
With a shirt
a sweater
or a sweatshirt
For day
or night
in black
or in colour
Oh,my...!!!
Now what?!

As the weather starts to cool and my tan starts to wear off I find myself
(as you have probably noticed )
thinking more and more about make-up and strong colours.In this light I have started thinking about red lipstick again!!!
They say there's a red lipstick for everyone but I have to admit that the search for the perfect red stain has become more of a quest for me.
I have learnt that red can be of two main types based on their undertones; the blue ones and the orange ones,in other words, the cool and the warm reds.
Alas,it's not as easy as choosing according to your hair or skin colour!You need to take into account issues like the shape of your lips,the amount of red in your complexion,the colour of your eyes,the shape of your face ,even your general style!!!
What are the three essential staples of a stylish wardrobe?
This seems to be the million dollar question for most women.We tend to think in terms of categories because it helps us concentrate and knowing what we should invest on helps us get more organised and,therefore,efficient. So,what are the most important pieces of clothing that any stylish woman should own?
A lot has been said and written about this issue.Fashion editors tend to come up with lists of ten items but I would like to concentrate on just three that appear on all lists and which my favourite Garance has repeatedly talked about. So,here it is:
1.The perfect white shirt.
If you find it make sure you buy more than one!A white shirt can be worn on any occasion,at any time,by anyone and guarantees an absolutely amazing look, since it serves as the perfect canvas that would highlight your face!
2.The perfect pair of black pumps!
As with the white shirt these shoes can be worn on a great number of occasions and, provided they fit well and are comfortable enough, they always make us look our best.In fact,they can improve our posture and make us look taller,thinner and more toned!(need I say more?)
3.A great coat!
I have already talked about the importance of a good cover up (see also http://antapal.blogspot.gr/2013/07/the-jacket.html).We tend to think about what to wear in terms of the dress/skirt/pants etc and neglect the issue of our cover up.However,it is absolutely vital to think about this as it may be our whole look when the weather dictates it!As such, it is absolutely worth investing in the perfect one and because fashions change(maybe too often) I wouldn't need to stress the importance of a classic really timeless one!
So these are what I find as, probably, the most important pieces of clothing that any stylish woman should own.Of course, there are more ,but if you need to think about where to start from,or what to actually invest on, I believe these three are the staples of any elegant wardrobe.
